The programme

The rich three-day programme included a Main Conference, sided by specialised events and workshops, and an Exhibition.

The Main Conference covered relevant topics for advancing space activities, such as the way towards greenspace, the importance of supply-chain, investment opportunities in the sector and updates on future lunar activities.

In the Exhibition area, companies were able to showcase their products and services to a captive audience of high-level decision makers.

Quantum Technology for the Space Sector took the stage…
  • In the Conference

Remarkably, two sessions in the Main Conference addressed the role of quantum technology for improved and resilient space assets, recognising the transformative opportunities and advantages these technologies may offer for the sector.

In the Cybersecurity session, moderated by Robert Mazzolin (Starion Group), QTI’s CEO Tommaso Occhipinti discussed along with representatives from the Italian Space Agency (ASI), Thales Alenia Space and ThinkQuantum the criticalities of the space supply chain, and the importance of achieve, or address, a proper level of attention to cybersecurity issues across all the supply chain.

QKD technology has the potential to enhance space activities by both span quantum signals through space, so enabling secure communications over long distances, as well as protect ground-based communications in an all QKD space- and ground-based network for quantum-safe communications in line with the EuroQCI and IRIS2 European Union projects.

The event was also the occasion to connect with local and international stakeholders thanks to the B2B Matchmaking SMV24 platform.
